The
Northernettes finished seventh in the junior event and
Teams Elite placed eighth in the senior division on Sunday at 2026 Marie Lundmark Trophy in Finland, the final competition of the ISU Synchronized Skating Challenger Series.
The
Northernettes finished sixth in the short program, with a season's best score of 72.62. Their previous best was 68.23 at 2026 Hevelius Cup, where they earned the silver medal. The team's element score of 40.97 was the third-highest of the segment.
Skating to "Sound of Silence"Â by Il Volo, the team received Level 4 credit for its move, twizzle, no hold and intersection elements.
Skating to "The Long and Winding Road"Â by Gorvado, the
Northernettes placed eighth in the free skate with a score of 108.78. The team posted an overall total of 181.40 points.
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, the
Northernettes achieved Level 4s for their synchronized spin, two intersections, move and traveling elements. They experienced a fall on their no hold element late in the program.
Their overall score was less than one point off their season's best at Hevelius Cup in Poland (182.01).
This event marks the
Northernettes' third Challenger Series event all-time (2025 Mozart Cup, 2024 Marie Lundmark Trophy).
Teams Elite, competing in back-to-back Challenger Series events, placed eighth in the free skate and eighth overall, posting scores of 120.08 and 188.40, respectively.
Skating to an "eye of the storm" theme, the team from Northbrook, Illinois, finished strong with the highest possible levels for their creative intersection, intersection, group lift and traveling element. They did have one fall.
Teams Elite also finished eighth in the short program with 68.32 points. Skating to "O mio babbino caro" by Vincent Ott, they garnered Level 4 marks for their synchronized spin and traveling elements.
They placed sixth two weeks ago at the 2026 U.S. Synchronized Skating International Classic in Norwood, Massachusetts.
The Challenger Series, which began in 2019-20, consists of up to five international competitions linked together to give adequate opportunities for synchronized skating teams to compete at the international level, earn World Standing Points and prepare for competing at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships.
