NATIONAL TEAM FUNDING

 

The U.S. Figure Skating Athlete Support (ASUPP) Fund provides essential financial assistance to athletes named to Team Envelopes A, B, C and D. This support helps offset training and competition expenses, allowing athletes to focus on reaching their highest potential on the national and international stage.

 

ASUPP FUNDING

Team envelopes award funding are based on results from the prior season. In figure skating, the team envelopes are comprised of five levels of achievement (designated A, B, C, D and Reserve), while in synchronized skating, team envelopes are comprised of three levels of achievement (designated A, B, C). 

There are a variety of funding opportunities available to skaters who are pursuing their goal of qualifying for Team USA. From prize money to funds run through U.S. Figure Skating, the ISU and other organizations, these opportunities all seek to reward stellar performance on and off the ice, ensuring that funding is never a barrier for skaters looking to achieve in the highest levels of the sport.

The U.S. Figure Skating Athlete Support (ASUPP) Fund financially supports the U.S. Team envelope A, B and C athletes by assisting them with their skating expenses.

Team envelopes are determined by the following criteria for singles, pairs and ice dance:

PRIZE MONEY

In addition to the funding above, athletes are eligible to receive prize money depending on placement and type of international event. The following international competitions include prize money:

  • ISU Junior Grand Prix Series
  • ISU Grand Prix Series
  • ISU Junior Grand Prix Final and Grand Prix Final
  • ISU Championship Events

SYNCHRONIZED SKATING FUNDING

Team envelopes are determined by the following criteria for synchronized skating: 2025-26 criteria

U.S. Figure Skating supports synchronized skating teams named to Envelope A-C with a grant. International Selection Pool teams are also eligible to receive training and travel grants each season.
