For the first time in two years, the
Skyliners stood on the podium at a Challenger Series Synchronized Skating event, clinching bronze in their international season debut at 2026 Lumiere Cup Saturday in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
This marks the
Skyliners' fourth total Challenger Series medal. Their last podium finish came at this same event in 2024 when they claimed silver.
The reigning U.S. bronze medalists kicked off the competition with 71.21 points in the short program. Skating with a theme of "lose control," the
Skyliners generated Level 4 designations on four elements and positive grades of execution on each of their five elements. They scored more than nine points on their first three elements, including their opening Level 4 move element, which was their highest scoring of the day at 9.50 points.
In medal position in third going into the final day, the
Skyliners gave another strong performance, skating to the theme "winner takes it all." That mentality shown through as the Connecticut-based team earned positive GOEs on eight of their nine elements with their Level 4 group lift generating 9.94 points.
The
Skyliners placed third in the free skate with 126.15 points, securing a place on the podium at a Challenger Series event for the first time since 2024 with 197.36 points overall.
In the junior division,
Team Image finished just off the podium in fourth while the
Fond du Lac Blades placed sixth.
Team Image, the two-time Challenger Series medalists, including bronze at this event in 2024, set new international seasons' best scores for their short program, free skate and overall tally, beating their previous best total score by nearly 10 points.
They came out strong in the short program, earning 8.45 points for their pivoting block. Their performance to "Shake, Rumble and Quake" by Bonti and Latif went on to score Level 4s on two more elements for a mark of 63.79.
In the free skate,
Team Image claimed 119.29 points for a two-day total of 183.08. Skating to a theme of "the life of Bach," they were once again strong out of the gate, securing the most points on their first element – a Level 4 move element worth 9.20 points. The team that trains in Hackensack, New Jersey, were awarded all positive GOEs and four Level 4 elements with four elements receiving more than eight points.
Competing for the second straight weekend, the
Fond du Lac Blades suffered two falls on the opening element of their short program, but rebounded with 8.30 points on their Level 4 twizzle element and 9.54 points on their final element, a Level 4 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection. They finished the day with 59.21 points for their "yesterday"-themed skate.
During the
Fond du Lac Blades' free skate to "Like a Prayer (Choir Version)" by Madonna, the highlight was their Level 4 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection that generated 9.21 points. They finished the free skate with 106.30 points, totaling 165.51 overall.
