Fresh off the 2026 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis, 18 U.S. athletes will take the ice this week at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2026 in China.
The competition will take place at the National Indoor Stadium in Beijing, from Jan. 21-25.
Leading the U.S. National Team are two-time and reigning U.S. pairs champions
Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov.
The skaters look to continue their upward trajectory as they compete for the second consecutive year at the Four Continents Championships (fifth in 2025). Efimova and Mitrofanov earned the silver medal at their second Grand Prix assignment, 2025 Finlandia Trophy, in late November before repeating as U.S. titlists.
Joining them in the pairs event are
Katie McBeath and Daniil Parkman as well as
Audrey Shin and Balazs Nagy.
McBeath and Parkman arrive as the reigning U.S. bronze medalists and the 2025 U.S. silver medalists. In addition to two Challenger Series medals in the fall, they competed in the Grand Prix Series, placing fourth and seventh, respectively, at their two events.
Shin and Nagy will compete for the second consecutive time at the Four Continents Championships. They've finished fifth at the past two U.S. Championships and placed fifth at their lone Grand Prix assignment last fall. Leading into the U.S. Championships, they won gold at the final Challenger Series event, 2025 Golden Spin of Zagreb.
In the women's event,
Bradie Tennell,
Sarah Everhardt and
Starr Andrews look to cap their productive seasons on another high note.
Both Tennell and Everhardt stood on the Four Continents podium last year as they brought home the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
This will mark Tennell's fifth appearance at the Four Continents Championships. She'll be vying for her third career medal at the event after also earning bronze in 2020. The two-time U.S. champion placed fourth at the 2026 U.S. Championships after clinching gold at Golden Spin of Zagreb. Tennell finished fourth at each of her two Grand Prix events last fall.
Right behind Tennell at the U.S. Championships in fifth, Everhardt's best placement in the Grand Prix Series this season was fifth at NHK Trophy. She also secured two Challenger Series medals.
Andrews, who will compete for the last time as a singles skater, competes for the third time at Four Continents. She placed fifth at her lone Grand Prix event, 2025 Skate America, last fall. Andrews plans to pursue a pairs career next season.
Tomoki Hiwatashi, fifth at the 2026 U.S. Championships and second after the short program in St. Louis, leads a strong men's contingent that features reigning U.S. pewter medalist
Jacob Sanchez and
Liam Kapeikis, the sixth-place finisher in St. Louis.
Hiwatashi will compete for the sixth time at the Four Continents Championships. He came on strong last fall, winning bronze medals at two Challenger Series events and placing fourth at 2025 Cup of China.
Sanchez, the 2024 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final champion, will compete for the first time at Four Continents. He made his Grand Prix Series debut last fall at Cup of China.
Kapeikis matched his best U.S. Championships finish ever in St. Louis. He'll compete for the second time at Four Continents.
Already nominated to the 2026 Olympic Team,
Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik headline the ice dance field, coming off a silver-medal finish at the 2026 U.S. Championships. They'll be joined by reigning U.S. pewter medalists
Caroline Green and Michael Parsons, and
Oona Brown and Gage Brown, sixth at the recent U.S. Championships.
Zingas and Kolesnik inserted themselves into the Olympic conversation this past season, earning medals at both of their Grand Prix events and qualifying for the Grand Prix Final. They'll compete for the third consecutive year at Four Continents with the goal of standing on the podium for the first time.
Green and Parsons also arrive at the top of their game; they earned bronze at NHK Trophy last fall. They will compete for the fourth time at the Four Continents event and won the competition in 2022.
The Browns, who competed twice during the Grand Prix season, will vie for the first time at Four Continents.
Competition begins Thursday in China with the women's short program, rhythm dance and pairs short program. On Friday, the rhythm dance and women's free skate take place. On Saturday, the men's event kicks off and medals will be awarded following the pairs free skate. Competition concludes on Sunday with the men's free skate.
