U.S. Skaters Continue Junior Grand Prix Series in Thailand

Competition begins Thursday in Bangkok

Six U.S. Junior National Team skaters will represent U.S. Figure Skating in Bangkok, Thailand, at the third competition of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. Two men and two ice dance teams will represent the stars and stripes at this event.

Louis Mallane, the 2025 U.S. junior men's bronze medalist, will return for his second season on the Junior Grand Prix circuit. He competed at JGP Poland 2025, where he finished 17th. Mallane also earned a first-place finish at the 2026 Junior Denver Cup International last season.

Hitonari Tani will make his Junior Grand Prix Series debut in Thailand. He finished fifth at the 2026 Junior Asian Open, where he recorded international personal best short program, free skate and total scores.

Ice dancers Annelise Stapert and Maxim Korotcov, fresh off a fourth-place finish at JGP China, will return to international ice in Thailand. The pair look to continue their momentum after a strong 2025-26 season, which featured two fifth-place placements at their Junior Grand Prix assignments in Italy and Turkey. Stapert and Korotcov also secured a top-10 finish at the 2026 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships in the junior event, taking the ninth overall spot.

Anaelle Kouevi and Yann Homawoo round out the athletes competing at JGP Thailand. The 2024 novice ice dance bronze medalists are looking to improve upon a strong international season. The cousins were fifth overall at the U.S. Championships in 2026. Internationally, they earned an eighth-place finish at JGP Turkey and eleventh at JGP Azerbaijan.

Competition begins with the junior women's short program on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 2:45 a.m. ET, followed by junior men's at 8:15 a.m. The rhythm dance begins at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, followed by the free skate for junior women and the free dance. The competition concludes on Saturday, Sept. 5 with the junior men's free skate at 4 a.m. MT.

The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, which started in 1997, consists of seven international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Each athlete is eligible to score points in two of the seven scheduled events (pairs can compete in two of four designated events). The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2026, which will take place Dec. 10-13 in Chongqing, China.
