The United States secured four junior international synchronized skating medals this past weekend, winning silver and bronze at both 2026 Hevelius Cup in Gdansk, Poland, and 2026 Spring Cup in Milan, Italy.
The
Northernettes and
Fond du Lac Blades secured silver and bronze, respectively, in Poland, while the
Lexettes and
Hockettes stood on the second and third steps of the podium in Italy. All four teams were making their international season debut.
Northernettes, Fond du Lac Blades Make the Podium in Poland
Leading the way for the United States, the
Northernettes used two clean skates to finish second in both the short program and free skate, recording a score of 182.01 and clinching the silver medal. The
Northernettes finished on the podium at this event for the second consecutive year after claiming gold in 2025.
The Minnesota-based team's short program to "Sound of Silence"Â by Il Volo featured four Level 4 elements. Shining were their Level 4 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection and Level 4 twizzle element, which accounted for 8.81 and 8.75 of the 68.23 points earned on day one.
In their free skate to "The Long and Winding Road"Â by Gorvado, the
Northernettes generated Level 4s on their synchronized spin, intersection and traveling element. Their second intersection was the highest-scoring element of the program, adding 8.88 points to a free skate score of 113.78.
In a close race for the third step of the podium, the
Fond du Lac Blades edged out fellow U.S. team the
Crystallettes by 0.08 to secure bronze with 176.95 points in total.
The team based out of Wisconsin kicked off their "yesterday"-themed program with their highest-scoring element — a Level 4 move element worth 9.10 points — and closed with a Level 4 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection that received 8.81 points. With Level 4 marks on four of their five elements, the
Fond du Lac Blades entered the free skate in fourth with a score of 66.94 points, just 0.11 points outside of the top three.
Skating to "Like a Prayer (Choir Version)" by Madonna in the free skate, the two-time U.S. junior pewter medalists again came out strong, earning Level 4 marks on their first four elements and on five elements overall. Tallying 9.19 and 9.00 points on their two Level 4 intersections that both had Level 4 point of intersections, the
Fond du Lac Blades were one of only two teams in the event to score nine or more points on two elements. Despite a fall on their final element, the team held on to finish third overall with 110.01 points in the segment.
Rounding out the U.S. entries in the junior competition, the
Crystallettes finished just off the podium in fourth with a total score of 176.87. This finish ties their result from this same event last season.
In only their second season competing as a U.S. junior team, the
Crystallettes finished third in the short program with a score of 67.05. The team delivered a clean skate to "Arrival of the Birds" by The Cinematic Orchestra and the London Metropolitan Orchestra, earning Level 4s on all five elements. Their intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection was the highest-scoring element of the program at 8.81 points, followed by a twizzle element and move element that both contributed 8.40 points.
In the free skate, the
Crystallettes kicked off their program with a theme of "the uprising" Â with a Level 4 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection that generated 9.00 points. Their traveling element, synchronized spin, and second intersection also secured Level 4s.
Though they dropped to fifth in the free skate with a score of 109.82, the team out of Michigan finished fourth overall.
In the senior event, reigning U.S. silver medalists
Miami University placed fifth with 176.12 points in total.
Despite a disappointing short program due to several falls, the RedHawks rallied to finish third in the free skate with a score of 129.48. Their group lift during their skate to "Le Freak (Dimitri From Paris Remix)" by CHIC was the star of their program, scoring an even 10.00 points and they placed second in total program component score with 64.59 points.
Lexettes, Hockettes Medal in Milan
At 2026 Spring Cup, two U.S. junior teams represented the United States and both came home with hardware as the
Lexettes claimed silver and the
Hockettes clinched bronze.
The
Lexettes started off strong in the short program, scoring Level 4s on four of their five elements to tally a segment score of 75.30. Skating to "Black Book" by Ori, the team that trains at The Skating Club of Boston earned over nine points for their move element and twizzle element.
Keeping their foot on the gas in the free skate, the
Lexettes opened their program set to "The Four Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi with a Level 4 synchronized spin, which tied with their Level 4 move element for the team's highest-scoring element of the event at 9.10 points. The reigning U.S. junior bronze medalists also secured Level 4 marks on both intersections and their traveling element.
The
Lexettes finished with a free skate score of 120.90 and total score of 196.20 to claim the silver medal.
Joining them on the podium, the
Hockettes continued their momentum from the end of last season after taking gold at 2025 Budapest Cup, standing on the podium to start this season with bronze.
The
Hockettes bookended their short program to Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars with two Level 4 elements: a twizzle element and no hold element. The team that trains in Ann Arbor, Michigan, also earned a program-high 8.46 points for their Level 3 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection. They collected a segment score of 66.64, good for third place going into the free skate.
In the free skate, the
Hockettes posted a score of 118.30 for their skate to "Take On Me" by Cinematic Pop. The team secured Level 4s on five elements, including their two intersections, both of which garnered 9.25 points, and synchronized spin that collected 8.63 points.
With a total score of 184.94, the
Hockettes secured bronze.
