Hana Maria Aboian and Daniil Veselukhin capped an undefeated season, winning the free dance and the overall title at the ISU Figure Skating Junior World Championships 2026 in Tallinn, Estonia on Saturday.
Winners of seven consecutive competitions, the Connecticut-based team came within one point of achieving both personal-best international free dance and overall scores. They posted a segment-best free dance of 100.26 points and a total score of 166.71.
The two-time and reigning U.S. junior ice dance champions haven't lost since placing seventh at the 2025 Junior World Championships.
Aboian and Veselukhin entertained the audience at the Tondiraba Ice Hall with their performance to a medley of high-intensity, powerful songs by Trailerhead.
They earned Level 4 credit on one spin and on their curve-rotational lift that generated an event-high 13.92 points for a single element.
Their victory marks the 13th World Junior title for a U.S. ice dance team since the event's inception in 1976.
Reigning U.S. junior silver medalists
Jasmine Robertson and Chase Rohner placed 15th in the free dance with a score of 76.22 and 11th overall with 135.38 points.
The first-year team, which trains in Novi, Mich., received Level 4s for two lifts and a spin. They had fall on their choreographic step sequence toward the end of the program set to the musical "Notre Dame de Paris."
Their rinkmates,
Michelle Deych and Ryan Hu, placed 16th in the free dance with a score of 75.09. They posted an overall score of 125.87 for 16th overall.
Performing to music from "The Four Seasons" soundtrack by Max Richter and Antonio Vivaldi, Deych and Hu earned Level 4s for two lifts and one spin.
In the women's competition,
Angela Shao established new personal-best international records for her free skate and overall scores. The 2026 U.S. junior champion, skating to the classic "Ave Maria," placed 11th in the segment with 116.69 points and ninth overall with score of 178.93.
Shao, who trains in Colorado Springs, Colo., achieved two Level 4 spins and earned a program-high 11.27 points for her triple flip-double Axel-double Axel sequence. That element did receive quarter edge calls on the Axels.
Sophie Joline von Felten, the 2025 U.S. junior champion, finished 14th in the free skate with a score of 113.48 and 12th overall with a total of 176.10 points.
Performing to melodic and melancholic music from the soundtrack to
Frida, von Felten opened with a triple Axel-double toe combination that generated a program-high 10.90 points. She earned a Level 4 for her combination spin. She fell on her triple Lutz late in the program.
Von Felten, sixth in the senior division at the 2026 U.S. Championships, placed 18th at this event last year.
