Thirteen U.S. Junior National Team skaters will represent U.S. Figure Skating in Riga, Latvia, at the second competition of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. All four figure skating disciplines will be represented at the event.
 
Here is what you need to know before the competition begins:

Of these skaters, 10 will make their Junior Grand Prix debut at this competition.

Skylar Lautowa-Peguero, 13, will make her Junior Grand Prix Series debut. The 2025 U.S. junior silver medalist earned her selection in part due to her first-place finishes in the novice division at 2026 Coupe du Printemps and 2026 Bavarian Open, as well as her third-place finish at the 2026 U.S. Junior Team Cup held in Wisconsin in early July. Lautowa-Peguero is coached by her mother, Julia Lautowa, who competed for Austria and is a seven-time national champion and 1998 Olympian.

Caleb Farrington, the 2026 U.S. junior silver medalist, commences his second season on the JGP circuit.  He secured the bronze medal at JGP Azerbaijan in 2025. Farrington most recently won the junior men's title at 2026 Coupe du Printemps.

Daniel Koppel breaks onto the JGP scene for the first time this week. He earned his assignment thanks in part to his fifth-place effort at the 2026 U.S. Junior Team Cup. Koppel won the Santa Claus Cup last season in the advanced novice division.

In the pairs event, two-time and reigning U.S. junior champions Reagan Moss and Jakub Galbavy look to build upon their best season to date. The team from Minnesota became the first-ever junior pairs team to win back-to-back U.S. titles before finishing seventh at the World Junior Championships in 2026. They will be looking for their first podium finish in Riga after placing fourth in their two JGPs last season.

Rounding out the pairs entries for the United States, Juliet Meek and sibling Devin Meek, and the new team of Julianne Wong and Jared McPike, make their JGP debuts.

The ice dance team of Aneta Vaclavikova and William Lissauer arrive in Latvia having placed second at the 2026 Lake Placid Ice Dance International. They competed domestically in the National Qualifying Series during the 2025-26 season. The couple earned the pewter medal in the junior event at the 2026 U.S. Championships.

Rylen Lukanin and Patrick O'Brien, who train out of New Jersey, will make their JGP debut. They are the 2026 U.S. novice ice dance champions and placed second at the 2026 Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships (NQS).

Competition begins with the junior women's short program on Thursday at 3:45 a.m. ET, followed by junior pairs and junior men short programs. On Friday, junior ice dance gets underway at 4 a.m. ET with the rhythm dance followed by junior pairs and junior women free skates. The competition concludes on Saturday with the junior men's free skate and junior ice dance free dance.

The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, which started in 1997, consists of seven international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Each athlete is eligible to score points in two of the seven scheduled events (pairs can compete in two of four designated events). The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2026, which will take place Dec. 10-13 in Chongqing, China.
