The top two teams from both the senior and junior events at the 2025 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships this past season travel to Nottingham, Great Britain, Jan. 9-10 to kick off the 2026 Challenger Series Synchronized Skating at Britannia Cup.
The
Haydenettes and
Miami University will skate at the senior level while
Teams Elite junior and
Skyliners junior will represent the United States in the junior competition.
This stacked lineup includes all three of the U.S. World medalists from 2025: the
Haydenettes,
Teams Elite junior and
Skyliners junior.
The
Haydenettes secured bronze at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2025, their second straight year on the World podium.
Teams Elite junior made history at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2025 when they became the first U.S. synchronized skating team, at any level, to win gold at a World Championships.
Skyliners junior also continued their medal streak at the World Championships, earning bronze. They have medaled at every World Junior Championships they've attended since 2018 (missed 2020 due to COVID-19 and the event was canceled in 2021).
The most successful synchronized skating team in U.S. Figure Skating history, the
Haydenettes started their international season in November at French Cup, claiming silver. The reigning and 32-time U.S. champions have won six Challenger Series medals.
Miami University will make their international season debut. The team tied for the best result at a senior World Championships with silver ended last season on a high note, clinching silver at the U.S. Championships.
Leading the U.S. in the junior competition,
Teams Elite junior is the most successful U.S. team in the history of the Challenger Series. With eight Challenger Series medals, the most of any U.S. team, the two-time and reigning U.S. champions have stood atop the junior Challenger Series standings the last two seasons. They then started this season where they left off with gold at 2025 Santa Claus Cup.
Right behind them on the podium at Santa Claus Cup with silver was
Skyliners junior.
Skyliners junior are seven-time U.S. junior champions and six-time Challenger Series medalists.
Competition begins Friday, Jan. 9 with the junior and senior short programs. Medals will be awarded after the free skates on Saturday, Jan. 10.
The Challenger Series, which began in 2019-20, consists of up to five international competitions linked together to give adequate opportunities for synchronized skating teams to compete at the international level, earn World Standing Points and prepare for competing at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships.
