ICEMEN

The Icemen Program attracts and retains male identifying figure skaters by building a supportive community inclusive of athletes, parents, officials, and fans of figure skating. The Icemen Program is committed to changing the narrative as figure skating is for everyone.

Created in 2012, the Icemen program is focused on unifying the male members of U.S. Figure Skating. The program creates lasting friendships and camaraderie by providing opportunities throughout the year to connect with peers and role models, including Icemen events during competitions and camps.

The program, open to male identifying members, was developed by U.S. Figure Skating's Program and New Program Development Committee to give this group of skaters a sense of peer support and networking opportunities, while also encouraging them to continue their involvement in figure skating.

Registration is no longer required for the Icemen program; information on opportunities to be involved in Icemen programming will be sent to all male identifying members of U.S. Figure Skating.

WHY ICEMEN?

Having this bond of brotherhood across the sport of figure skating helps to build confidence in ourselves. At the end of the day, we skate because we love the sport.
Stephen Murray (First Male Haydenette)
Icemen allows male skaters to connect with other men involved in figure skating and shows them that they are not alone. It gives them a place to meet the elite males in our sport and helps to build confidence and friendships that will last a lifetime.
