HIGH SCHOOL SKATING

U.S. Figure Skating’s high school program offers skaters the opportunity to compete on a team for their high school.

Similar to intercollegiate team skating, U.S. Figure Skating’s high school program offers skaters the opportunity to compete on a team representing their school or a collection of schools. 

GET STARTED WITH HIGH SCHOOL SKATING

To participate, skaters must be a member of U.S. Figure Skating or Learn to Skate USA, and enrolled full-time in a high school. Athletes may be enrolled in in-person, homeschooled, or virtual courses. All skating levels and abilities are welcome!

At least two skaters are required to start a high school skating team. Skaters can represent their high school or a combination of several area schools. Before forming a team, students are recommended to get approval from their high school however, it is not required. To get started, log into Members Only to complete registration with U.S. Figure Skating.

SECTIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FINAL COMPETITIONS

U.S. Figure Skating is excited to bring back the Sectional High School Finals! This is an in-person competitive opportunity open to skaters who are rostered on registered High School Skating teams. Athletes can compete in Short Program, Free Skate, Solo Dance, Showcase, and Team Maneuvers events to earn points on behalf of their team. Team points from each event are totaled at the end of the competition to determine the final standings.

For 2026, there will be an Eastern Sectional and a Midwest/Pacific Coast Sectional.

GRADUATING SENIORS AWARD PROGRAM

The Graduating Seniors Award Program recognizes individuals graduating from high school who continued their training in figure skating while pursuing their academic studies. On behalf of the U.S. Figure Skating High School Programs Subcommittee, the program honors qualified graduates for their achievements during high school through the presentation of a certificate to the skater during a school function or recognition opportunity.

There are four level designations awarded within the program: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Individuals receive awards based on their highest skating achievement (test or competition) during high school as noted on their application.

The Graduating Seniors Award for the Class of 2026 will open on September 1, 2025. Log into Members Only to access the application.
