Taira Shinohara (University of California, Irvine) captured his second consecutive senior men's title at the 2026 U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships in Richfield, Minnesota on Saturday.  

Newcomer Ria Basu (Columbia University) claimed the senior women's title, while Ryan William Azadpour and Landice Mullins earned gold in the junior men's and women's events, respectively.  

Scholarships are awarded to the top three finishers in the senior women's and men's divisions as well as the top two finishers from the junior women's and men's competitions.  

Below are the results from the championship events.  

Senior Men 

Shinohara generated a score of 210.64, winning by a margin of 27.16 points.  

The mechanical engineering major delivered a dominant performance in the short program. He was the only skater to earn more than 10 points for a single element (a triple flip-triple toe loop), Level 4s on all three spins and the only one to earn positive GOEs on every element. His skate to "A Night in Tunisia" by Dizzy Gillespie produced 73.62 points.  

Shinohara extended his lead with a free skate score of 137.02. His performance to music from Studio Ghibli opened with a clean triple Axel followed by a triple Salchow-triple toe loop combination that earned 9.22 points. His triple Lutz-Euler-triple Salchow combination was his highest-scoring element at 9.84 points.  

Lorenzo Elano (Oakton College) secured the silver medal with 183.48 total points.  

Elano's spins were the star of his short program to "Oh, Love and Fear" by Wylder with all three generating more than four points and Level 4 marks.  

Third after the short program with 52.99 points, Elano opened his free skate to "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber with a triple Axel followed by a triple Lutz-triple toe loop combination that yielded 8.53 and 11.28 points, respectively, for a segment score of 130.49.   

Joseph Klein (Northwestern University) posted an overall score of 163.12 to secure the bronze medal. He finished second in the short program with 55.86 points. His program opened with a triple toe loop-double toe loop, his strongest element of the performance at 6.34 points. He went on to score 107.26 points in the free skate.  

Tongxi Liu (University of California, Irvine) finished with the pewter medal. His total score of 118.72 consisted of a short program score of 34.83 and a free skate total of 83.89 points. 

Senior Women 

Basu scored 162.53 points en route to the senior women's title.  

Skating to music by Dua Lipa, Basu opened the short program with a score of 54.28, good enough for third in the segment. Five elements garnered more than four points, including a triple Salchow that produced 4.73 points.  

In the free skate, Basu delivered a strong opening triple Lutz that yielded 7.38 points and a GOE of 1.48. Skating to "No Time to Die" by Billie Eilish, her triple Salchow-double toe loop combination garnered more than seven points. A first-place finish in the free skate with a score of 108.25 secured victory. 

Chloe Levine (University of Denver) took home the silver medal with a total score of 160.27.  

Levine skated a clean short program, earning all positive GOEs and Level 4s on two spins for her skate to "Madness" by Ruelle.  

Despite a fourth-place finish in the short program with 52.54 points, Levine rallied in the free skate, climbing to second in both the free skate and the final standings. Her skate to "Historia de un amour" by Helene Segara featured a triple Lutz-double Axel-double toe loop sequence that earned 11.68 points. An event-high program component score of 57.94 contributed to a segment score of 107.73.  

Anabel Wallace (University of California, Los Angeles) claimed the bronze medal. She earned a second-place finish in the short program with a score of 55.68, just 0.80 points off the lead. All three of her spins received a Level 4. She went on to score 97.90 points in the free skate for a two-day total score of 153.58.  

Clara Delcamino-Yang (Boston University) clinched the pewter medal with 50.56 points in the short program and 96.61 points in the free skate for a combined score of 147.17.  

Junior Men 

Representing Washington University in St. Louis, Azadpour earned the junior men's title with a total score of 187.46.  

In his short program to "David's Writings" by Christopher Willis, Azadpour was the only competitor to earn more than 10 points for a single element — a triple flip-triple toe loop combination. He also scored Level 4 marks on two spins for a score of 71.42.  

First going into the free skate, Azadpour earned a program-high 7.87 points toward a free skate score of 116.04 for his triple flip-double Axel sequence in his performance to "He Lives in You" from The Lion King.  

Aaron Kulvatunyou (University of Maryland, College Park) claimed the silver medal with a total score of 170.63.  

His 58.69-point short program to "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz featured two jumping passes that generated more than six points, including a triple Lutz that received 6.88 points.  

Skating to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by Regina Spektor in the free skate, Kulvatunyou earned Level 4s on two spins and executed a clean triple Salchow-double Axel-double Axel sequence. He scored 111.94 points. 

Solomon Bristol (Boston University) secured the bronze medal with 170.50 cumulative points, his third consecutive podium finish at the U.S. Collegiate Championships.  

After scoring 53.33 points in the short program, Bristol opened his free skate with a triple toe loop-double Axel-double Axel sequence worth 11.36 points. He earned 117.17 points in the segment to secure bronze. 

Brian Tokuda (University of California, Los Angeles) clinched the pewter medal with 50.13 points in the short program, 103.59 points in the free skate and 153.72 points overall.  

Junior Women 

Mullins (University of Denver) won the junior title with a total score of 125.71.  

Her short program to One Direction's "Story of My Life" performed by The Piano Guys opened with her highest-scoring element, a triple Salchow-double toe loop combination worth 6.03 points. She received positive GOEs on all but one element to win the short program with a score of 46.10.  

Skating to "Danse Macabre" by the Czech Symphony Orchestra in the free skate, Mullins earned positive GOEs on all but one element and more than five points on two jumping passes. Her flying camel spin was awarded a Level 4; she finished with a free skate score of 79.61.   

Emmalee Carlson (Concordia University St. Paul) earned the silver medal with 123.54 points.  

The 2025 junior women's champion opened her short program to "House of the Rising Sun" by Haley Reinhart with a double Axel and concluded with a double Lutz followed by a Level 3 sit spin.  

In the free skate, performing to music from The Lion King by Hans Zimmer, Carlson executed two Level 4 spins and a 5.30-point double Lutz-single Axel-double toe loop sequence. Her program component score of 44.52 was the highest of the competition. Carlson won the segment with 81.50 points.   

Addyson McDanold (Century College) claimed the bronze medal in her Collegiate Championships debut. In the free skate, she garnered 7.59 points for her double Lutz-double Axel-single Axel sequence and received a Level 4 for her flying camel spin. She collected 39.87 points in the short program and 79.27 points in the free skate en route to an overall score of 119.14. 

Emily Warren (SUNY Geneseo) earned the pewter medal. She scored 39.66 and 64.25 points in the short program and free skate, respectively, for an overall score of 103.91.
