The Haydenettes and Skyliners will represent Team USA at the pinnacle synchronized skating event of the season, the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2025, which takes place April 4-5 in Helsinki, Finland.
This marks the second straight year that these two teams will compete for the United States at the World Synchronized Skating Championships.
The most decorated team in U.S. Figure Skating history, the Haydenettes are looking to build on last year’s historic result at the World Championships, where they won silver, their sixth World medal. The silver tied the best result by a U.S. team at the World Championships.
“The goal is to do even better [than last year]. I think the goal is always to be the World champion. At the end of the day though, there are a lot of uncontrollables and all you can control is the hard work … and hitting that ending pose and feeling proud. I know that if we do that, the pieces are going to fall into place and we’re going to land right where we need to be,” said sixth-year Haydenette Autumn Coulthard. “So I think last year it was not a shock, but it was the first time [we’d medaled] in a while and I think it gave us that confidence going into this year. We do deserve to be here, we do deserve to be on the podium and we’re going to work hard for it.”
The Haydenettes, which have skated at every Worlds that has been held since the event’s inception in 2000, medaled at both their Challenger Series events this season before clinching their 32nd, and 15th straight, U.S. championship.
The Skyliners started out their season with a bronze at Santa Claus Cup in December. After finishing just off the podium at Mozart Cup – their first Challenger Series event of the season – the Skyliners earned bronze at the U.S. Championships. This marks the fifth time the Skyliners have been named to the World Team.
“We’ll be thinking about what went right [at the U.S. Championships] and that feeling that we had had and that connection with each other is really important to keep going forward,” said Elise Barber, who is in her second year with the Skyliners.
Competition kicks off Friday at 10:30 a.m. ET with the short program and concludes Sunday with the free skate, which starts at 9 a.m. ET.
