Miami University sits in fifth place after their short program with 71.77 points. The Redhawks received Level 4 marks for their no-hold element and step sequence. Miami University returns to the World stage for the first time since 2016 and earned the first World medal for the U.S. in 2007.
The Haydenettes are in sixth place after the short program with 68.70 points. The 29-time U.S. champions earned Level 4s for their pivoting block, traveling circle, no-hold element and step sequence, but had two falls in their "Sweet Dreams" program. They are five-time World bronze medalists, most recently in 2016.
