Teams Elite, Skyliners Junior in Podium Position at World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships

Teams Elite and Skyliners junior are both in podium position after the short program at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2022 in Innsbruck, Austria. Less than one point separates the top three teams heading into Saturday's free skate.

Teams Elite made a splash in their World Junior debut, earning a season-best 72.41 points to place second in the short program. Their "Ouija" themed performance had the highest technical score of the competition, notching 39.78 points and Level 4 marks for their twizzle element, no-hold element and step sequence. Dawning beige costumes with letters from an Ouija board, the squad earned all positive grades of execution.

Skyliners junior are right behind their countrymates in third place with 72.34 points. The two-time World Junior medalists skated to "Hallelujah" by Cinematic Pop and received Level 4s for their twizzle and no-hold elements en route to their season's best score. Performing in lavender dresses, the New York-based squad had the second highest program component score of the event with 33.20 points.

Finland's Team Fantastic is in first place after the short program with 72.83 points.
