The ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2022 kick off Tuesday with 18 U.S. skaters vying for medals in Tallinn, Estonia. This week, Team USA will also send five athletes to skate at the Bavarian Open Jan. 18-23 in Oberstdorf, Germany.

All events at Four Continents, which take place Jan. 18-23, will be available to watch live and on-demand on Peacock Premium. E! as and NBC will also be televising the competition. To view the full television schedule, visit the Four Continents Competition Central.

Less than two weeks ago, Gabriella Izzo broke through for her first medal at the championship level at the 2022 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Nashville, Tennessee, earning the pewter medal. Competing alongside Izzo will be 2020 Guaranteed Rate Skate America bronze medalist Audrey Shin and Starr Andrews, who finished sixth and ninth in Nashville, respectively.

In the men's event, Team USA will look to continue its medal streak as a U.S. man has stood on the podium every year the competition has been held since 2017. Camden Pulkinen and Jimmy Ma just missed the podium in Nashville, taking fifth and sixth, respectively, while Tomoki Hiwatashi – who took third at the U.S. Championships and fourth at Skate America in 2020 – will compete in his first event of 2022.

The U.S. pairs are headlined by Audrey Lu and Misha Mitrofanov, who are fresh off a bronze medal at the U.S. Championships and gold at the Golden Spin of Zagreb. Right behind Lu and Mitrofanov in Nashville were Emily Chan and Spencer Howe, who secured the pewter medal. Katie McBeath and Nathan Bartholomay, who took fifth in Nashville, round out the trio of U.S. pairs skaters.

The United States enters Four Continents leading the event's overall medal table in ice dance and has won gold the last three times the event was held in 2018-20. Looking to continue the legacy will be Caroline Green and Michael ParsonsEmily Bratti and Ian Somerville, and Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko.

Green and Parsons are two-time U.S. pewter medalists and also took fourth at 2021 Skate Canada International. Teaming up less than a year ago in July 2021, Bratti and Somerville finished fifth at this year's U.S. Championships. While Carreira and Ponomarenko finished seventh in Nashville, the pair have two Grand Prix medals to their names, including bronze at 2020 Skate America.

The ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2022, which began in 1999, is a competition between skaters representing non-European countries.

Team USA also will have five athletes competing at the Bavarian Open.

Kanon Smith, the 2021 U.S. junior silver medalist, will represent the red, white and blue in the junior women's event.

Joining Smith in Germany will be the junior ice dance of Elliana Peal and Ethan Peal, who won bronze at this year's U.S. Championships in the junior event. Olivia Ilin and Dylan Cain will be competing in the advanced novice ice dance competition.
