Six U.S. Athletes to Compete in Russia this Weekend

Six Team USA athletes are headed to compete at Rostelecom Cup in Sochi, Russia, this week. The final stop of the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, Rostelecom Cup is set to take place from Nov. 26-28 at the Iceberg Skating Palace.

Six Team USA athletes are headed to compete at Rostelecom Cup in Sochi, Russia, this week. The final stop of the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, Rostelecom Cup is set to take place from Nov. 26-28 at the Iceberg Skating Palace.
 
Mariah Bell will compete in her second consecutive week after finishing sixth at Internationaux de France last weekend. Bell has medaled in three of her last four Grand Prix appearances.
 
Camden Pulkinen will return to Grand Prix ice after an 11th-place finish at NHK Trophy earlier this month. Pulkinen has never competed at Rostelecom Cup.
 
The pairs tandem of Audrey Lu and Misha Mitrofanov also returns to the Grand Prix circuit after an appearance at NHK Trophy in Japan, where they placed fifth. They competed in Russia in 2019 and finished eighth.
 
Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker will make their season debut in Russia. The duo, which withdrew from NHK Trophy due to injury, are seeking their third Grand Prix Series medal. Hawayek and Baker made their Grand Prix debut at Rostelecom Cup in 2014.

The Grand Prix Series, now in its 26th season, consists of six international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Each athlete or team is eligible to score points in up to two of the six scheduled events. The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the 2021 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, set for Dec. 9-12 in Osaka, Japan.
