Hubbell and Donohue capture silver at Gran Premio d'Italia

Hubbell and Donohue earn the silver medal; Green and Parsons finish fifth in Italy.

Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue captured the silver medal in ice dance at the Gran Premio d'Italia this weekend. The event in Turin was the third stop on the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. 

Hubbell and Donohue opened their free dance to "Drowning" by Anna Sila with a Level 4 combination spin. They earned Level 4 on five additional elements to score 123.11, earning a total competition score of 207.90. 

Caroline Green and Michael Parsons finished fifth with 178.26 total points. Their free dance, set to Violin Concerto No. 1 "EsoConcerto"  II by Adagio and "Clouds, The Mind on the (Re)Wind" by Ezio Bosso, earned 102.66 points. The program featured four Level 4 elements. 

France's Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron took the gold medal in Turin with 220.06 total points, while Russia's Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin secured the bronze medal with 202.18 total points.
