The pair has trained under Dalilah Sappenfield in Colorado Springs, Colorado, since 2012.
The pair will train in both the greater Chicago area and Oberstdorf, Germany.
"We are extremely grateful for the relationship and career we have built with Dalilah and all of our coaches at the World Arena," Alexa said. "We will always cherish those experiences we shared together over the last six seasons."
"We are incredibly excited and motivated to start our journey with the newly crowned Olympic champion Aljona Savchenko and the members of her team," Chris added.
Savchenko won the gold medal at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, and is a six-time World pairs champion.
"I am so happy that I am able to share my passion with such a hard-working and intelligent pair," Savchenko said. "I'm excited to work with Alexa and Chris."
Last season, the Knierims won their second U.S. title and the bronze medal in the Team Event at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
