The 2022 U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships & Invitational will be held July 22-23, 2022, at the Richfield Ice Arena in Richfield, Minnesota.

Nearly 120 competitors are registered to compete at the preliminary through senior levels in singles and solo dance. Forty-eight skaters will vie for titles in the junior and senior women’s and men’s events, with the opportunity to earn scholarship money based on placement.

The U.S. Collegiate Championships are held every summer and is the only figure skating event in the country open solely to high-level, full-time college students. To qualify, a skater must be a current U.S. Figure Skating member and 1.) a full-time student as defined by their college/university in the upcoming fall semester/quarter in the year of the Championships, 2.) a student recently admitted to a full-time college or university degree program for the upcoming fall semester or 3.) graduated from their degree program between March 1 and July 31 of the year of the Championships.

The Collegiate Championship Award Program, started from the Pioneer Fund, is given out annually based on the results at the U.S. Collegiate Championships. The program was developed to award the champions a one-time monetary scholarship. The awards are distributed annually following the winners’ successful completion of their full-time fall term/semester.

The following placements will receive scholarship money at the 2022 Collegiate Championships:

  • Senior Women & Men’s Champions: $4,000
  • Senior Women & Men’s 2nd Place: $2,000
  • Senior Women & Men’s 3rd Place: $1,000
  • Junior Women & Men’s Champions: $1,000
  • Junior Women & Men’s 2nd Place: $500

New this year, the U.S. Collegiate Invitational is a nonqualifying portion of the U.S. Collegiate Championships open to current U.S. Figure Skating members who are full-time, part-time, recently admitted or recently graduated from a collegiate/university. Skaters can register to compete in short program (juvenile through novice), excel free skate (high beginner through senior), solo pattern dance and solo free dance.
