The 2022 Excel National Festival begins today at The Skating Club Boston in Norwood, Massachusetts.
Composed of two competitions, the Excel National Final and the Excel Open Competition, the festival, which runs through Sunday, July 17, invites skaters of all ages and levels together for a competitive opportunity and celebration of skating. More than 400 skaters are registered to compete and participate in the festival.
The Excel National Final is an invite-only event for the top skaters from the Excel Series at the plus levels and novice, junior and senior. Competitors also participate in the Finalist Camp, which includes on- and off-ice sessions.
The Excel Open Competition is open to skaters at the beginner through intermediate levels who competed in at least two Excel Series competitions. Competitors at these levels also have a festival experience with off-ice classes, including movement, meet-and-greets with Team USA skaters and an ice cream social.
