The 2021-22 U.S. Figure Skating Qualifying Season begins this week with the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Championship Series presented by Toyota.
The first stop of the series takes place Oct. 4-8 in Blaine, Minnesota, for singles and ice dance. The first competition for pairs will take place in Henderson, Nevada, on Oct. 12-16.
The 2022 U.S. Championship Series is a series of eight competitions replacing the traditional U.S. Qualifying Season (Finals and Challenges) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Athletes will have the opportunity to compete at up to two competitions in the location of their choice. Advancement to the 2022 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships will be based on each skaters’ highest score earned rather than placement at each competition. Qualification to the National High Performance Development Team will also be based on skaters' highest scores. More specific information regarding advancement is available in the U.S. Championship Series handbook.
The highest-scoring junior and senior athletes will earn a berth to the 2022 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The highest-scoring athletes at the juvenile, intermediate and novice levels will earn an invitation to the National High Performance Development Team.
Fans can watch on-demand coverage of the eight competitions on the U.S. Figure Skating live and on-demand on the U.S. Figure Skating Fan Zone (juvenile, intermediate, novice) and Peacock Premium (junior and senior). More information on the series and how to watch is available on usfigureskating.org and the U.S. Figure Skating Fan Zone.
