1. Chan and Howe Fight for Their Dream
Pairs team Emily Chan and Spencer Howe had a breakout 2022–23 season. The duo secured two Grand Prix podium finishes, a silver medal at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, qualified for the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and earned the silver medal at the 2023 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships. However, behind the scenes, Howe was dealing with a worsening shoulder injury, and Chan injured her ankle at the beginning of the season, threatening their campaign to build on their success this season. Despite a slower recovery for Howe than expected, the pair is grateful for the village of support they have received from medical and high-performance staff and are working toward coming back to the ice stronger than ever.

3. Where Are They Now? – Jessica Joseph
Catch up with Olympian, U.S. junior ice dance champion and half of the first U.S. ice dance team to win a World Junior title, Jessica Joseph. Joseph took a break from skating, but five years later she is back – but this time she is behind the boards as a coach. As she adjusts to this new role, Joseph is hoping to have a positive impact on athletes and the skating community as a whole. Joseph also reflects on growing up in Detroit and skating at the Detroit Skating Club, which quickly became a hub for ice dance with notable athletes like Naomi Lang and Meryl Davis and Charlie White.
4. Tribute to Charlie Cyr
In June of 2023, the figure skating world lost Charlie Cyr — a beloved team leader for Team USA at the Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake City 2002 and a renowned domestic and international skating official. In honor of Cyr, members of the 2002 U.S. Olympic Team came together to donate a symbolic $2,002 to U.S. Figure Skating’s Memorial Fund. Olympic athletes like Naomi Lang remember Cyr fondly as someone that would light up a room and make everyone feel like family.
