Nearly 200 collegiate figure skaters from across the country will skate at the premier event of the collegiate figure skating season, the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships & Invitational, July 19-21 in Richfield, Minnesota.
At the U.S. Collegiate Championships, full-time, part-time, recently admitted and recently graduated collegiate student-athletes will vie for U.S. titles as well as scholarship prize money, earning placements as an individual while representing their school in junior and senior events.
Returning to defend her title in the senior women’s event is University of Minnesota junior and two-time U.S. Collegiate Championships medalist Wren Warne-Jacobsen. Joining Warne-Jacobsen are the three senior women that stood beside her on the podium last year: Lindsay Wang, Brynn Roberts and Erica Machida.
In the senior men’s competition, Goku Endo will take the ice on the hunt to claim his first senior gold. He is a three-time medalist at the Championships, earning bronze and silver in the senior event in 2023 and 2022, respectively.
At the conclusion of competition, the top three finishers in the senior women’s and men’s divisions and top two finishers from the junior women’s and men’s competitions will be awarded the following scholarships:
Senior
- Women’s and men’s champion: $4,000
- Women’s and men’s silver medalist: $2,000
- Women’s and men’s bronze medalist: $1,000
Junior
- Women’s and men’s champion: $1,000
- Women’s and men’s silver medalist: $500
Also taking place in Richfield is the U.S. Collegiate Invitational, a nonqualifying competition that gives skaters entered in short program, Excel free skate, solo pattern dance or solo free dance a chance to compete on a national stage while representing their school.
