Two senior and two junior teams will represent the United States at Mozart Cup – the first synchronized skating Challenger Series event of the season – taking place Jan. 16-18 in Salzburg, Austria.

The Skyliners and Miami University will skate for Team USA at the senior level while Team Image and the Northernettes will represent Team USA at the junior level.

Two senior teams will be competing in their first Challenger Series event of the season in Austria – Skyliners and Miami University.

The Skyliners opened their competitive season last month with bronze at 2024 Santa Claus Cup. Last season, the 2024 World team members tied their best-ever result at a Challenger Series, clinching silver at 2024 Lumiere Cup.

Competing for the first time this season, Miami University will look to improve on their two sixth-place finishes in the Challenger Series last year.

In the junior event, Team Image will be competing for the second straight weekend after capturing bronze at Britannia Cup last weekend. They hope to build on their bronze at their first Challenger Series event last season, a bronze at 2024 Lumiere Cup – their second-ever Challenger Series medal.

Joining Team Image is the Northernettes. They will be competing in their second season in the Challenger Series. Although it wasn’t a Challenger Series event last year, the Northernettes know the feeling of medaling at this event after earning bronze.

Competition begins Friday with the junior and senior short programs and concludes Saturday with the junior and senior free skates.

The Challenger Series, which began in 2019-20, consists of up to five international competitions linked together to give adequate opportunities for synchronized skating teams to compete at the international level, earn World Standing Points and prepare for competing at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships.
