Team USA looks to make history at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden, March 7-8.
When Teams Elite and Skyliners junior take the ice, both will be looking to become the first synchronized skating team – at any level – to win gold at a World Championships.
Both have medaled at the World Junior Championships previously. Skyliners junior enters as the reigning World Junior bronze medalists and has medaled at every World Junior Championships they’ve attended since 2018. The two teams made history in 2022 when they stood on the podium together as Skyliners junior claimed silver and Teams Elite clinched bronze – the first time Team USA had ever had two teams stand on a World Championships podium at any level.
Teams Elite travels to Sweden as the top-seeded team after winning both of their Challenger Series events, posting 208.36 at 2025 Dresden Cup, the highest international score of any team in the series by nearly five points.
This past week, Teams Elite won their second straight U.S. junior title.
Skyliners junior, whose silver in 2022 marked the best-ever result for Team USA at the World Junior Championships, claimed the second step of the podium at the 2025 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships.
The five-time World Junior medalists have medaled twice internationally this season, earning bronze at 2024 Santa Claus Cup and bronze at their second Challenger Series event, the 2025 U.S. Synchronized Skating International Classic.
Competition kicks off Friday with the short program. Medals will be awarded Saturday following the free skate.
