Three U.S. synchronized skating teams travel to the first Challenger Series event of the season – the Lumiere Cup – Jan. 11-14 in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
The Skyliners will represent Team USA in the senior division while Skyliners junior and Team Image will skate for the red, white and blue in the junior event.
The Skyliners, the 2023 U.S. bronze medalists, look to open the international season with a strong start. Last season, they did just that, earning bronze at Neuchatel Trophy.
Also traveling to the Netherlands, Skyliners junior comes off another historic season. They medaled at every international event they competed at in 2023, starting their season with gold at Mozart Cup.
After winning their seventh U.S. title, the team from The Skating Club of New York clinched bronze at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2023, their fourth World Junior medal.
Team Image begins their quest to make their first World Junior team. The 2023 U.S. silver medalists head to Lumiere Cup seeking to win their second Challenger Series medal.
The competition begins Friday with both the junior and senior short programs. Medals will be awarded Saturday following the junior and senior free skates.
The Challenger Series, which began in 2019-20, consists of up to five international competitions linked together to give adequate opportunities for synchronized skating teams to compete at the international level, earn World Standing Points and prepare for competing at the ISU Championships.
