Skyliners Lead Team USA at Marie Lundmark Trophy in Fourth

The Skyliners just missed the podium this past weekend at 2024 Marie Lundmark Trophy in Helsinki, Finland, finishing fourth in the senior division.

The Skyliners just missed the podium this past weekend at 2024 Marie Lundmark Trophy in Helsinki, Finland, finishing fourth in the senior division.

The silver medalists at the first Challenger Series event of the season, Lumiere Cup, the Skyliners ended the short program in medal position.

Skating to "Writing's on the Wall" by Sam Smith, the Skyliners earned Level 4 marks on two elements and secured nearly 10 points for their Level 3 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection. They finished the segment in third place with 69.62 points.

In the free skate, the Skyliners’ Romeo and Juliet themed performance was highlighted by their Level 4 move element, one of six Level 4 elements in the program. They were awarded 138.07 points, giving them 207.69 points overall for fourth place.

Both junior teams skating for Team USA finished in the top 10.

Competing at their first-ever Challenger Series event, the Northernettes finished seventh in the short program with a score of 58.79.

They improved to sixth place in the free skate with five Level 4 elements, tallying 104.80 points and 163.59 points overall, but dropped to eighth place in the final standings.

Team Image, which earned bronze at their first Challenger Series event of the season at Lumiere Cup, recorded a 10th-place result with a two-day total of 154.59.

The team from Hackensack, New Jersey, struggled in both performances, suffering five falls total. They scored 58.06 in the short program and 96.53 in the free skate.
