Skyliners junior is in position to bring home another World medal after placing third in the short program at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2024 in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

The team out of Stamford, Connecticut, has earned a medal at the last four World Junior Championships they’ve competed in, including silver in 2022 and 2018 and bronze in 2023 and 2019.

Their twisted firebird-themed program received all positive grades of execution and Level 4 marks for all five elements, recording a total element score of 39.24 – the second highest of the competition.

Although Skyliners junior lost a point for a fall, they were awarded 70.93 points, which is just over three points behind the leader, Les Supremes of Canada.

Teams Elite finished the first day of competition in fourth place with a score of 68.66.

Skating to "Moonlight Sonata" by Ludwig van Beethoven, the 2022 World Junior bronze medalists and reigning U.S. champions claimed Level 4s on their final four elements, highlighted by a Level 4 move element that scored 8.45 points. However, Teams Elite suffered a fall on their intersection.

Competition concludes Saturday with the free skate. Click here for live results and stream the event live on the ISU’s YouTube channel.
