Remembering the Lives We Lost: Washington Figure Skating Club

Honoring those we lost from the Washington Figure Skating Club on American Airlines Flight 5342: Franco Aparicio, Luciano Aparicio, Alydia Livingston, Donna Livingston, Everly Livingston, Peter Livingston and Inna Volyanskaya.

On Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, the figure skating community lost 28 athletes, coaches and parents, including seven from the Washington Figure Skating Club, in a tragic plane crash as they were on their way home from the National Development Camp in Wichita, Kansas.

To honor their memory, we pay tribute to those members of the Washington Figure Skating Club. They all left an immense impact and will be forever missed.

Franco Aparicio
Franco Aparicio, 14, practiced alongside Everly Livingston. Described as a gracious, hard-working skater whose smile would light up the ice and who pursued excellence in everything he did, Franco was an athlete making his way up the ranks.

He placed fourth at the 2025 Eastern Sectional Singles Final and placed first at the National Qualifying Series events in Austin and at Middle Atlantic Championships. This was his second year earning a spot at the national developmental camp.

Everly Livingston, 14, and her sister Alydia Livingston, 11, were beloved members of the Washington Figure Skating Club. They often shared their skating routines on social media, including on Instagram, where they went by the handle @ice_skating_sisters.

Everly earned her invitation to the development camp by placing fourth in intermediate women at the 2025 Eastern Sectional Singles Final. She won three of her National Qualifying Series events this past season. Last year, she participated in U.S. Figure Skating’s Jump on It! Camp.

Alydia competed in both singles and ice dance, placing fourth at the 2024 Potomac Open in the pre-juvenile girls event. She recently teamed up with a new ice dance partner. She was known for her vivacious personality and commitment to improve.

Their parents, Donna Livingston and Peter Livingston, also perished in the accident.
