U.S. Figure Skating is celebrating its centennial anniversary in 2021. In the February issue of SKATING magazine, we take a look back at those skaters and moments which made the 1930s special. The U.S. hosted its first World Championships and Olympic Winter Games. Skating greats such as Maribel Vinson Owen and Roger Turner grabbed the spotlight. We also continue to honor “100 contributors” — 10 in each issue of 2021 — who have dedicated their time, talents and passion at the grass roots level to make the sport fun and fulfilling for others. The 10 people featured in the February issue are F. Ritter Shumway, Leslie Barnes-Albright, Tammy Berendzen, Don Corbiell, Katie Hannemann, Katharine Owen, Chris Roux, Butch Russell, Ferelith Senjem and Cindy Zubli. Top U.S. skaters also give their answer to a centennial-related question.
