Adult Skaters Impress at U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships in Minnesota

Eleven U.S. titles were awarded at the 2025 U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships Presented by Prevagen this past weekend in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Eleven U.S. titles were awarded at the 2025 U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships Presented by Prevagen this past weekend in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Three reigning champions successfully defended their titles Kristina Struthwolf-Leato, Michael Solonoski, and Jennifer Freedman and Oleg Voyko — while eight competitors/teams captured gold medals for the first time.

Championship Masters Junior-Senior Women
Struthwolf-Leato (Centennial Park FSC) won her fourth consecutive gold in the championship masters junior-senior event. Claiming the title by 18 points, Struthwolf-Leato concluded her program to “Shades and Shadows” and “Vampire Masquerade” by Peter Gundry with a Level 4 flying spin that received 4.55 points en route to an overall score of 75.68.

Diane Zhou (SC of San Francisco) glided to second place with 57.67 points. Her performance featured a double Lutz-single Axel sequence that generated nearly four points.

Rosie Canter (Columbus FSC) produced 55.05 points followed by Kelsey Cease (St. Moritz ISC) with a score of 54.26; they placed third and fourth, respectively. 

Championship Masters Junior-Senior Men
Michael Solonoski (IceWorks SC) made history en route to a third consecutive U.S. title. His score of 94.66 is the highest-ever achieved at the U.S. Adult Championships. Performing to a Sunset Boulevard medley, Solonoski earned positive GOEs on all elements and received nearly 13 points for his triple loop-double Axel-double Axel sequence. He won the event by more than 40 points.

Kyle Shropshire (Rochester FSC) tallied 52.31 points to claim silver. His skate received positive GOEs on all but one element.

Eduardo Vidal (Central Virginia SC) took home the bronze medal with 24.72 points.

Championship Adult Gold Women
Gabbi Guest (FSC of Memphis) claimed her first U.S. title, with 40.16 points. Her performance to music from Romeo and Juliet by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra was highlighted by a Level 3 spin that earned 2.87 points. 

Vicky Li (Memorial FSC of Houston) garnered the silver medal with 39.92 points. Her Level 3 spin was the highest-scoring element of the event, generating 3.51 points.

Cassandra McNulty (Crossroads FSC) placed third with 39.61 points, while Sara Barcik Weissman (Los Angeles FSC) rounded out the podium with a score of 38.22.

Championship Adult Gold Men
Eric Cook (individual member) stood on top of the podium for the first time with 32.72 points. His single flip-single Axel-single toe loop sequence highlighted his performance to “Konfrontation” by Iwasaki Taku, producing 2.26 points.

Liam Cowper (Uncle Sam CS) finished second with 29.80 points. His choreographic step sequence stood out.

Rafael Quintanar (SC of Boston) placed third and Sean Ang (SC of San Francisco) finished fourth with 27.97 and 26.13 points, respectively.

Championship Adult Silver Women
The silver medalist in this event last year, Tara Green (Los Angeles FSC) was victorious, capturing her first gold medal with 30.24 points. Skating to “All I Know So Far” by Pink, she earned positive grades of execution on all but one element. At age 52, Green became the oldest adult silver women’s champion in the history of the event.

Karissa Yau (SC of San Francisco) received positive GOEs on every element to clinch the silver medal with a score of 28.58.

Niko Cohen (SC of Boston) posted a score of 27.93 points to secure the bronze medal for the second consecutive year. Samantha Jones (Lansing SC) produced 26.35 points to take the pewter medal.

Championship Adult Silver Men
It was a close race, with the top four separated by fewer than two points.

Ken Nguyen (Red Rose FSC) came out on top with a score of 23.94. The first-time champion’s performance to “Paranoid” by Dylan Rockoff featured a choreographic step sequence that contributed 2.11 points to his cause.

Christopher Shipley (SC of Boston) produced 23.10 points to earn the silver medal, with his program’s highest points generated by his choreographic step sequence.

Jordan Trinh (Glacier Falls FSC) took home the bronze medal with 22.96 points.

Robert Burtze (Central Carolina SC) posted a score of 22.08 to claim the pewter medal. His total element score of 8.75 was the highest of the event.

Championship Adult Dance
Jennifer Freedman (Hickory Hill FSC) and Oleg Voyko (individual member) repeated as gold medalists. The team claimed their sixth career medal at the Adult Championships with 76.31 points, winning all three segments. Their free dance to “Le Vie en Rose” by ZAZ and “Sin Rumbo” by Otros Aires featured Level 3 synchronized twizzles.

Jodi Beggs (SC of Boston) and Keiffer Hubbell (St. Clair Shores FSC) made their debut as a team, taking home the silver medal with 71.88 points. They started their free dance with a Level 4 straight line lift.

Bronze medalists Diana Cheng (All Year FSC) and Kirill Solovyev (All Year FSC) posted the event’s highest technical element score of 23.65 points en route to a total score of 58.44.

Pewter medalists Rachel Kuhn (Brooklyn FSC of Ohio) and Anthony Makar (Brooklyn FSC of Ohio) finished with 45.09 points.

Championship Adult Solo Dance
Kelsey Cease’s (St. Moritz ISC) performance to “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner generated 96.21 points to claim gold. Her Ina Bauer edge element combination contributed 9.66 points to her overall score.

Grace Stuever (Pittsburgh FSC) earned her highest finish in this event, with 92.00 points and the silver medal. Stuever was awarded 9.50 points for her Ina Bauer edge element combination.

Katerina Tetzloff (All Year FSC) produced 89.27 points to secure the bronze medal, while Meghan Lapointe (SC of Boston) finished with 89.21 points to earn the pewter medal.

This was the first year that this event was scored using the international judging system.

Championship Masters Pairs
First-time champions Elaine Jurun (Tacoma FSC) and Alec Schmitt (Winterhawks FSC) claimed gold by a margin of nearly 28 points with a score of 67.33. The team opened their performance to “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me” by Taylor Swift. They secured Level 4 marks for their two spins.

Diana Cheng (All Year FSC) and Kirill Solovyev (All Year FSC) earned the silver medal with 39.58 points. Their choreographic step sequence helped their cause with a program-best 3.21 points.

Tara Cioppa (North Jersey FSC) and Stephen Trzaska (Washington FSC) took home the bronze medal with 36.20 points, followed by Courtney Ozog (Wayne-Westland FSC) and Paul Mata (Wayne-Westland FSC) who clinched the pewter medal with 36.20 points.

Championship Masters Intermediate-Novice Women
Derica Su (Pittsburgh FSC) earned her first U.S. title with a score of 47.47. Her skate to “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga featured three Level 4 spins.

Molly Linder (DuPage FSC) tallied 43.85 points thanks in part to a Level 4 change-of-foot combination spin to clinch silver.

Finishing with the bronze medal, Elaine Jurun (Tacoma FSC) racked up 42.58 points. Her program component score of 26.14 was the highest of the event.

Kimberly Manfre (Triangle FSC) received 42.06 points to finish with the pewter medal.

Championship Masters Intermediate-Novice Men
After missing the podium last year, Eric Bilardi (Los Angeles FSC) reclaimed the top spot in Minnesota, winning his third career title. Skating toPrelude a lapres-midi dum faune” by Thomas Beecham, he achieved positive grades of execution on all but his opening element and scored 3.29 points for his single Axel-single Euler-double Salchow combination, both of which contributed to his total score of 47.72.

Souvanthong Muangkhoua’s (ISC of Fresno) claimed the silver medal with 44.73 points. His double toe loop-single Axel-single Axel sequence generated 3.72 points.

Earning the bronze medal for the second consecutive year, Michael Rubke (Los Angeles FSC) finished with 44.46 points.

Ken Ho (Pittsburgh FSC) secured the pewter medal with 42.00 points.
