Team USA Heads to Helsinki for ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2019

(4/10/19) — Two teams will represent the United States at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2019. Competition will commence in Helsinki with the short program on Friday, April 12, and conclude with the free skate on Saturday, April 13.

The Haydenettes, who won their 27th U.S. title earlier this year, are making their 20th consecutive event appearance. They have competed at every World Synchronized Skating Championship since its inaugural event in 2000. The Massachusetts-based team looks to improve upon their seventh-place finish last year and return to the podium, having won bronze in 2010-13 and 2016. Earlier this year, the Haydenettes won the bronze medal at Leon Lurje Trophy.

The Skyliners are set to make their second straight Worlds appearance this week. In their Worlds debut last season, the New York-based team finished in ninth place. The reigning U.S. silver medalists are headed to the event with an international medal in tow, having captured the silver medal at Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy.
