One of multiple fundraising initiatives associated with the Destination PyeongChang Campaign, The Family Tree Program will provide direct financial support to the families of each 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Olympian, ensuring that Team USA’s skaters will never be without their most critical support system – their families.

U.S. Figure Skating estimates the cost for just ONE family member to attend the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 is $7,200. With your support, we can help offset those costs to ensure our Olympians have their greatest support system by their sides as they represent our country.

Make your donation to the Family Tree Program now at Donors can receive great benefits like the official Destination PyeongChang T-shirt and special e-videos sent straight to their inbox from Olympic hopefuls. You can also receive a special “leaf” to be placed on our tree display at 2017 Bridgestone Skate America and the 2018 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

With the help of longtime corporate partner, Smucker’s, U.S. Figure Skating is calling on skating clubs around the country to help support Team USA and their families on their journey to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Destination PyeongChang Skate-A-Thons will serve as a way for U.S. Figure Skating member clubs to help raise funds and awareness for the Destination PyeongChang Family Tree Program and the 2018 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team.

Fifty percent of proceeds raised at Destination PyeongChang Skate-A-Thons will stay local and support the host club and its efforts to give local skaters more on-ice opportunities; the remaining 50 percent will support the Destination PyeongChang Family Tree Program. Skaters of all ages will be invited to participate.

In support of clubs’ efforts nationwide, Smucker’s will match up to $10,000 raised by Skate-A-Thon participants. In addition, all registered Skate-A-Thon participants will be entered to win a year’s supply of Smucker’s Uncrustables AND four all-session tickets to the 2019 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.*

U.S. Figure Skating is encouraging everyone to get on the ice in support of Destination PyeongChang! All U.S. Figure Skating members are challenged to invite friends and family to participate in Destination PyeongChang Skate-A-Thons at their rink to help their club earn incredible incentives. In the competitive spirit of the Olympic Games, U.S. Figure Skating has created a Club Challenge! Clubs across the country will have the chance to win a visit from a 2018 Olympian or two all-event tickets to the 2019 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

Clubs will compete in one of four categories:
Tier 1: 50 members or fewer
Tier 2: 51-100 members
Tier 3: 101-250 members
Tier 4: 250+ members

* Membership based on registered members as of October 1, 2017

Grand Prizes will be awarded in two categories within each tier:
1. Most money raised will receive a visit from a 2018 Olympian
2. Most Skate-A-Thon participants will receive two all-event tickets to the 2019 U.S. Figure Skating Championships

* Olympian visits will be scheduled during an agreed-upon time between a Club Officer and U.S. Figure Skating.
