(10/31/12) - Four athletes will represent Team USA at 2012 Cup of China, the third of six events on the 2012 ISU Grand Prix Series, Nov. 2-4, in Shanghai.

Icenetwork.com will provide news and photos from the event. On-demand video of Cup of China will be available to Season Pass subscribers approximately seven days following the conclusion of the event.

Ladies
Mirai Nagasu continues her season after starting the fall with a third-place showing at 2012 Finlandia Trophy in September. Nagasu is the 2008 U.S. champion and a 2010 Olympian. She also owns a pair of Grand Prix Series medals, including the silver from the 2011 version of this event.

Men
Adam Rippon, the reigning U.S. silver medalist, makes his Cup of China debut. Rippon begins his fifth Grand Prix season in Shanghai.

Ice dancing
Madison Chock and Evan Bates will compete for the third time of the young season. After finishing off the podium at the 2012 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic in mid-September, they rebounded to take the 2012 Nebelhorn Trophy title.

In the pairs discipline, Caitlin Yankowskas and Joshua Reagan were assigned to compete, however, they were forced to withdraw last Thursday due to a Reagan rib injury.

The Grand Prix Series, now in its 18th season, consists of six international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Approximately 300 athletes from 30 countries are expected to participate in the series. Each athlete is eligible to score points in up to two of the six scheduled events. The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the 2012 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, set for Dec. 6-9, in Sochi, Russia, home of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Athletes will compete for a total of more than $1.35 million in prize money throughout the series.
